UPDATE: Power restored in Kamloops

UPDATE: 6:13 P.M., JUNE 20, 2015

Power is being restored to the Aberdeen and Upper Sahali areas after a two-hour power outage this afternoon. B.C. Hydro still lists the outage as under investigation and says power should be fully restored by 6:30 p.m.

4:19 P.M., JUNE 20, 2015

KAMLOOPS – A storm moving through the Kamloops area this afternoon has knocked out power to over 3,500 homes and businesses in the south end of the city.

The power went out at about 4 p.m., June 20, in the Aberdeen and Upper Sahali areas and crews have been dispatched to investigate the cause and the get the power back on, according to the B.C. Hydro website.

Hydro is estimating the electricity will begin flowing again by 8 p.m.

The outage covers an area west of Simms Road, South of Greenstone Drive and north of Edith Lake Road.
