KAMLOOPS - A stolen car was involved in a crash this morning, and police now have a suspect in custody.

Police were called to a collision when a car rear-ended a truck at 9:05 a.m. today, Nov. 9, at Summit Drive and Notre Dame Drive. The driver of the car fled the scene before police arrived, but witnesses gave police a description of the driver and which way he went.

Police later located the suspect, a 36-year-old man, on Thor Drive. He was previously known to police.

The car involved was determined to be stolen in Kamloops on Sunday, Nov. 6.

RCMP are recommending charges under the Motor Vehicle Act and one count of possession of stolen property.
