Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (13,990.29 up 102.08 points):

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Unchanged at $4.11 on 13.5 million shares. Bombardier Aerospace said it delivered 238 aircraft in 2013, missing its own forecast on lower than expected business jet shipments, and received 19 per cent fewer orders during the year as it continued to feel the effects of a sluggish global economy.

BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless communications. Up 82 cents, or 8.22 per cent, to $10.80 on 7.7 million shares. The smartphone company's shares rose more than eight per cent Monday after it received a vote of confidence from the U.S. Department of Defense. The government agency says about 80,000 BlackBerrys will be deployed on its new mobile device management system by the end of this month.

San Gold Corp. (TSX:SGR). Miner. Up 3.5 cents, or 24.14 per cent, to 18 cents on 5.1 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Up 95 cents, or 4.61 per cent, to $21.56 on 4.9 million shares.

Paladin Energy Ltd. (TSX:PDN). Miner. Up five cents, or 9.09 per cent, to 60 cents on 4.7 million shares.

Endeavour Mining Corp. (TSX:EDV). Miner. Up eight cents, or 13.56 per cent, to 67 cents on 3.4 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (979.74 up 3.40 points):

Excelsior Mining Corp. (TSXV:MIN). Miner. Down seven cents, or 12.73 per cent, to 48 cents on 8 million shares.

Lomiko Metals Inc. (TSXV:LMR). Miner. Up five cents, or 50 per cent, to 15 cents on 5.4 million shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Osisko Mining Corp. (TSX:OSK). Miner. Unchanged at $6.47 on 2.6 million shares. The company said Monday that shareholders should give its board time to find an alternative to Goldcorp's hostile $2.6-billion takeover offer, which it called opportunistic and inadequate.

Royal Bank of Canada (TSX:RY). Banks. Up one dollar, or 1.39 per cent, to $72.86 on 1.4 million shares. Royal Bank announced it was slightly reducing interest rates on a number of its fixed-rate mortgages, a move the bank said put it in line with competitors.

WestJet Airlines Ltd. (TSX:WJA). Airlines. Up four cents, or 0.15 per cent, to $27.12 on 89,697 shares. The Calgary-based airline unveiled initial details for the eastern expansion of its regional WestJet Encore service this summer. The company said WestJet Encore will start June 27 with routes between Toronto and Thunder Bay, Ont., and between Thunder Bay and Winnipeg.
