Most actively traded companies on the TSX, TSX Venture Exchange markets

TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (13,587.98 up 69.06 points):

Colossus Minerals Inc. (TSX:CSI). Miner. Up 1.5 cents, or 23.08 per cent, at eight cents on 3.84 million shares.

BlackBerry Ltd. (TSX:BB). Wireless technology. Down 42 cents, or 5.09 per cent, at $7.83 on 2.75 million shares. Co-founder Mike Lazaridis has cashed in $26 million worth of shares in the struggling smartphone company. The transaction, announced after markets closed Tuesday, dropped his stake with BlackBerry to five per cent.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Plane and train maker. Up eight cents, or 1.73 per cent, at $4.70 on 2.67 million shares.

Sherritt International Corp. (TSX:S). Miner. Down 18 cents, or 4.64 per cent, at $3.70 on 2.09 million shares. The company said Tuesday it was selling its entire coal business in Canada to two separate buyers for a total of $946 million.

Orbite Aluminae Inc. (TSX:ORT). Miner. Up 3.5 cents, or 10.14 per cent, at 38 cents on 1.98 million shares.

Toronto Venture Exchange (919.03 up 15.82 points):

Lomiko Metals Inc. (TSXV:LMR). Miner. Up 5.5 cents, or 91.67 per cent, at 11.5 cents on 7.67 million shares.

Red Pine Exploration Inc. (TSXV:RPX). Miner. Up three cents, or 46.15 per cent, at 9.5 cents on 4.09 million shares. The company`s stock closed at its highest level in two years.

Company reporting major news:

Saputo Inc. (TSX:SAP). Dairy processor. Down 14 cents or 0.29 per cent, at $48.26 on 88,486 shares. Saputo says it has received nearly 18 per cent of shares in Warrnambool Cheese and Butter, Australia's oldest dairy producer, under its friendly takeover offer. That puts the Montreal-based company slightly ahead of its chief rival for the company, Murray Goulburn Co-operative Ltd.
