TORONTO - Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (11,497.87, up 0.58 of a point):

Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. (TSX:IVN). Miner. Up six cents, or 0.56 per cent, at $10.68 on 7,089,524 shares.

Petrobank Energy And Resources Ltd. (TSX:PBG). Oil and gas. Down 12 cents, or 1.10 per cent, at $10.78 on 5,535,445 shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation equipment. Up one cent, or 0.26 per cent, at $3.88 on 4,929,838 shares.

Talisman Energy Inc. (TSX:TLM). Oil and gas. Up 34 cents, or 3.03 per cent, at $11.57 on 4,894,785 shares.

Neo Material Technologies Inc. (TSX:NEM). Rare earths. Down 11 cents, or 1.08 per cent, at $10.05 on 4,466,022 shares.

Eldorado Gold Corp. (TSX:ELD). Miner. Up 31 cents, or 2.48 per cent, at $12.79 on 4,366,442 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,243.88, down 25.83 points):

Raging River Exploration Inc. (TSXV:RRX). Oil and gas. Down five cents, or 2.7 per cent, at $1.80 on 4,558,735 shares.

Aurcana Corp. (TSXV:AUN). Miner. Down one cent, or 0.97 per cent, at $1.02 on 3,271,450 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Dollarama Inc. (TSX:DOL). Retail chain. Up $3.74, or 6.58 per cent, at $60.61 on 455,390 shares. The dollar store plans to gradually introduce higher-priced items this summer including some as high as $3. The Montreal-based discount retailer also reported that first-quarter profit increased 40 per cent to $42.6 million, or 56 cents per share, which was six cents per share ahead of what analysts expected.

Bauer Performance Sports Ltd. (TSX:BAU). Hockey equipment company. Up six cents, or 0.75 per cent, at $8.06 on 3,850 shares. Bauer is buying hockey helmet manufacturer Cascade Helmets Holdings Inc. for US$64 million in a bid to expand its lacrosse business and acquire the company's patented helmet technology.
