PENTICTON - The City of Penticton has extended its deadline for pubic input on design concepts for the SS Sicamous park area.
Residents interested in commenting on the project will now have until Oct. 16 to do so.
First phase of a multi-phase plan to reconstruct the area around the SS Sicamous includes improvements to the entrance to the park area, a path and boardwalk for the length of the jetty into Okanagan Lake, limited day moorage, erosion control measures, selection of a design theme and the preservation of swimming and kayaking launch areas.
The SS Sicamous Master Plan has been incorporated into the Official Community Plan, with the initial phase design now underway in order to provide budget information for a spring 2016 construction start.
Residents can also provide feedback through an online survey available at the project’s webpage.
