WEST KELOWNA – A $1,400 statue was stolen from the front counter of a West Kelowna winery yesterday.

A review of store surveillance shows a man and a woman enter the Boucherie Road winery around 4:30 p.m. on July 26,take a green soapstone carving and leave with it, according to a media release from Crime Stoppers.

It wasn’t until one week later on Aug. 3 that an employee noticed it was missing and phoned West Kelowna RCMP, the release says.

The release does not give a description of the statue but asks anyone who recognizes the couple or know anything about this, or any other crime, to call the Central Okanagan Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tips line at 1-800-222-TIPS or visit www.crimestoppers.net. Your information will be kept confidential and could lead to a reward of up to $2000.00.
