Stalled West Kelowna condo project gets new lease on life

Renamed Gallatly Parc, this 33-unit condo project is finally on the market.

After sitting empty for the last couple of years, West Kelowna’s Gellatly Place is back on the market with slightly different name.

It's now Gellatly Parc.

“We sold two units and had about 20 people through each day,” Alana Gaudette, project marketing manager for Fortune Marketing told iNFOnews.ca, March 2.

Construction of the 33-unit project ran afoul of City of West Kelowna building inspectors and ground to a halt in 2018 when the city filed stop-work orders and finally got an injunction against the developer.

The conflict centred around inspectors not being able to check on some work before it was covered over. Since then, the developer co-operated with the city, those works were inspected and an occupancy permit was issued on Dec. 13, 2019.

With prices starting at $359,900 for a two-bedroom, 915 square foot unit, Gellatly Parc is being marketed to first time home buyers, retirees or for those looking for rental or vacation property.

The building is at 4215 Gellatly Road, just behind the Cove Resort. The units can be viewed Wednesdays through Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
