Stabbing victim in serious condition in Kelowna

KELOWNA – RCMP in Kelowna are investigating after an early morning stabbing sent a man to hospital with serious bodily injuries.

This morning Jun. 17, at approximately 2:40 am, RCMP received a report of a stabbing just committed in the 4000 block of Lakeshore Road in Kelowna.

RCMP spokesperson Const. Jesse O’Donaghey says in a media release the 35-year-old victim sustained “serious and potentially life threatening” stab wounds. The North Okanagan man was rushed to local hospital by B.C. Ambulance Service for emergency medical treatment.

“Kelowna RCMP general duty officers responded and arrested three individuals in proximity to the scene of the stabbing,” O’Donaghey says. “One of our police canines was brought to the scene to assist with a search for any evidence connected to the crime.”

O’Donaghey says investigators "believe this was an isolated incident and the public is not at risk.”
