Stabbing in Shuswap community under investigation by RCMP

RCMP are investigating following a stabbing in a small Shuswap community yesterday.

RCMP say yesterday, Jan. 29, at around 1:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in Blind Bay.

The victim, a 35-year-old man, was stabbed in the leg in the Eagle Bay area, according to an RCMP media release.

When officers found him, they determined the injuries were not life-threatening. He was treated at Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

Police believe this was a targeted incident and say there is no risk to the public.
