Springer Park to officially open

Construction is nearing completion at the new Springer Park on Elliott Road and the District of West Kelowna is inviting the community to join Mayor Doug Findlater and Council for an official grand opening on Tuesday, July 16. The ribbon cutting ceremony will start at 11 a.m.

Springer Park will be the second of three District of West Kelowna parks improvement projects opening this summer, as part of Council’s commitment to revitalize Westbank Centre and improve access to the waterfront. Springer Park improvements benefited from a $100,000 contribution from developers of the Gateway project on Brown Road. In August, the lakeside Osprey Park on Green Bay Road is expected to officially open. The waterfront Paddlewheeler Park on Pritchard Drive officially opened on June 27.

The District of West Kelowna also intends to officially open Jim Lind Arena and Gellatly Road Phase 3 improvements in August, highlighting another year of strategic, significant infrastructure upgrades in the young municipality.

Dates for other openings will be announced once completion timelines are confirmed.
