KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Regional Farmers’ Market Society is getting ready to launch the season’s first outdoor market this weekend.
The local farmers' market will return on Saturday, April 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 12: 30 p.m. on St. Paul Street between 2 Avenue and 3 Avenue.
“The market will run every Saturday rain or shine until October 26,” a press release from the society says.
The Wednesday weekly markets will start May 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. located outside of the TNRD Library in downtown Kamloops.
The society says they anticipate a number of similar vendors from last year. So far, they have received more than 100 vendor applications and are expecting approximately 60 vendors.
“All products are made, baked or grown by our vendors within B.C., the majority within a 100-kilometre radius of Kamloops,” the society says in the release.
One change the society wishes to advise residents of for this year’s farmers' market is vendors will not be handing out plastic shopping bags. Patrons are instead encouraged to bring reusable bags and baskets. For those without a bag, the information booth will have cloth bags for sale.
