TORONTO — The defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers will take on the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series starting Friday night at Rogers Centre.

The Dodgers are listed as a -220 favourite on BetMGM to win the Fall Classic, meaning a $220 bet would be needed to win $100.

The Blue Jays, who have home-field advantage for the best-of-seven series, were listed at +180, meaning a $100 bet would win you $180.

Here's a look at the predictions from five reporters who were asked for their picks on the eve of Game 1:

Pick: Dodgers in five. "(Shohei) Ohtani is the best player in the world, maybe the best player ever, and then Freddie Freeman is as clutch as they come. So I just can't imagine those guys not being able to pull this out."
