KALAMAZOO, Mich. (AP) — Broc Lowry threw three touchdown passes, Jaylen Buckley ran for three scores, and Western Michigan defeated FCS-opponent Monmouth 49-14 on Saturday night.

The blowout win comes on the heels of Western Michigan's controversial 13-12 loss to Michigan last week.

Western Michigan added touchdowns on three consecutive drives in the third quarter, with Buckley scoring twice, and the Broncos led 42-7 heading to the fourth quarter. Backup quarterback Trey Petty's 21-yard scoring pass to Ryan Brotherton made it 49-7 before Monmouth scored on a short run in the final minute.

Lowry completed 14 of 20 passes for 212 yards. Aveion Chenault caught four passes for 101 yards for the Broncos (1-1). The Broncos finished with 414 yards but allowed 431.
