A brief video of a racist rant in a Burnaby drugstore has gone viral.

The video was posted to Facebook and showed a woman standing at the check-out of the Shoppers Drug Mart on Kingsway and McMurray Avenue, pointing a finger in the employee’s face and repeatedly telling her to shut up.

“Speaking in Chinese in front of me… shut up, you’re rude. Speak English in Canada,” she said, while a child standing next to her watches.

She continues to berate more employees in the store, accusing them of “shit-talking” her to each other and calling them “idiots.”

“I just want to put this lady on blast for being extremely rude and racist,” the person who posted the video said. “And hopefully show her there (are) consequences to this type of behaviour. It's sad to see this sort of racism still in 2019 and in Greater Vancouver, B.C., and Canada.”

The video had already been shared 4,000 times when this was published.
