In another example of innovation, a South Okanagan movie theatre is hoping video gamers will want to play on the big screen.

Lyle Miller and Kandise Ife operate the Oliver Theatre and are now renting the venue for video gaming.

In a social media post, Kandise Ife says the theatre can be rented for a private gaming experience for up to 50 people at $50 per hour with a minimum of $100, cash only.

They ask that gamers arrive 15 minutes early to set up their gaming stations and no outside food is allowed.

The theatre recently made itself available for private movie showings for families and friends, with room for up to 50 people to come and play their favourite movie on the big screen.

The theatre industry has been hard hit by COVID-19 restrictions and a lack of new movie releases.
