South Okanagan real estate sales numbers continued upward trend in December

Number of sales, new listings and sales volume for residential housing were all up in December, compared to December 2018.

The South Okanagan residential real estate market continued upward movement in December 2019, compared to the same month a year earlier.

The South Okanagan Real Estate Board reports residential sales were up by 12 per cent from 92 units sold in 2018 to 106 units sold last December.

Active listings were also up by three per cent from 1,493 to 1,539, December to December.

Sales volume increased by 22.5 per cent to $46,450,645 this past December compared to $37,855,048 in December 2018.

The average selling price of a single family home rose in all major South Okanagan markets except Osoyoos, Keremeos, Princeton, Naramata and Apex.

Penticton’s average selling price rose from $530,400 in December 2018 to $567,071 in December 2019.
