Someone from the Okanagan won half a million bucks playing Lotto Max

A Lotto Max ticket purchased in Lake Country for the Aug. 5 draw is now worth $500,000.

All four of the ‘extra’ numbers matched, and the ticket purchased in Lake Country was the only one in Canada to do so, according to playnow.com.

But $500,000 is peanuts compared to the lucky jackpot winner who won $55 million on the same draw, thanks to a ticket purchased in Toronto, Ontario.

There was also one Maxmillion winner from the Prairies, out of four available $1 million prizes.

The jackpot for the next draw on Aug. 9 will be an estimated $13 million.
