Someone bought a $5 million winning lottery ticket in the Lower Mainland

Someone is $5 million richer after buying a winning Lotto 6/49 ticket in the Lower Mainland.

A ticket purchased in Surrey won the Classic Jackpot prize of $5 million by matching six out of six numbers in the draw yesterday, Dec. 21.

The chances of that happening are 1 in 13,983,816, according to a B.C. Lottery Corporation media release.

The winning numbers were 29, 34, 37, 38, 42 and 49.

The winner has 52 weeks to claim the prize.
