Some sunshine ahead of the weekend in Kamloops, Okanagan

Friday and Sunday are likely to be the sunniest and warmest days in the coming week.

While today could see showers throughout the Thompson-Okanagan region, Friday is forecast to be a rare sunny day.

There is a 30% chance of showers today, Sept. 30, in the Okanagan and 70% in Kamloops, according to Environment Canada.

Both areas should be sunny tomorrow with highs of 18 Celsius in Kamloops and 16 C in the Okanagan.

Clouds are expected to blanket the entire region Saturday before the sun returns Sunday in Kamloops with a mix of sun and clouds in the Okanagan. Highs Sunday could reach 20 C in Kamloops and 19 C in the Okanagan

The forecast for early next week is calling for more cloud and showers.

The coldest nights should be overnight tonight with lows of 6 C and overnight Sunday with a low of 5 C in Kamloops. The low overnight tonight in the Okanagan is forecast to be 5 C but the lows range from 7 C to 9 C through the weekend.
