Some of the best french fries in the country can be found in Penticton

Jeffer's Fryzz of Penticton has been named as one of the top 10 best french fry trucks in Canada by The Food Network.

PENTICTON - A national top 10 list has included a Penticton business in its rankings.

The Food Network recently published a list of the top 10 french fry trucks in Canada, placing Jeffer's Fryzz of Penticton as number 10.

In the list, called 10 Canadian Chip Trucks Worth Stopping For, Jeffer’s Fryzz was described as one of B.C.’s most well-known food trucks.

“It first cemented its reputation with its hand-cut chips, and later brought poutine to the Okanagan Valley. They also added beer-battered Alaskan cod to their menu 10 years ago, which is a must-try,” Jennifer Paterson says in the Food Network article.

“It’s pretty exciting,” Jeff Treadway says. He along with his wife Beth own Jeffers Fryzz.

The two found out about making the list when their Facebook page suddenly got busy with Penticton residents congratulating them for their achievement.

“It was like hometown pride, where everybody felt that Jeffers was ours, and we got voted one of the best chip trucks in Canada,” Jeff says, adding he and his wife still treat the business with the same pride they had when they first began.

Jeffer's Fryzz has been located at its Nanaimo Avenue location beside the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce since 1984.

Other chip trucks making the top 10 included a truck in Saskatchewan, five in Ontario, one in Quebec, one in Nova Scotia and one in Newfoundland.
