TORONTO - The Western New York Flash have waived Canadian international defender Chelsea Stewart.
The 25-year-old made three appearances with the National Women's Soccer League team since joining the Flash at the start of the season. She is currently playing for Canada at the Pan American Games.
The move comes two days after the Flash signed Colombian star midfielder Lady Andrade.
Wednesday's Pan Am semifinal pitted Canada against Colombia.
Stewart has both U.S. and Canadian citizenship. Her father was born in The Pas, Man.
