Canadian international defender Nana Attakora wins NASL weekly award

NEW YORK - Canadian international Nana Attakora, a defender with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, has been named player of the week in the North American Soccer League.

The 27-year-old from Toronto had a goal and an assist in the Strikers' 3-1 road win over the Carolina Rail Hawks on Saturday.

Attakora spent last season with San Antonio in the NASL. He has also played for Toronto FC, San Jose Earthquakes, D.C. United, and Finland's Haka.
