Canadian international teenager Liam Millar scores winner for Kilmarnock

PAISLEY, Scotland - Canadian international Liam Millar's late goal gave Kilmarnock a 1-0 win over St. Mirren in Scottish Premiership play Monday.

The 19-year-old from Brampton, Ont., on loan from Liverpool, came off the bench to score in the 87th minute on a wet evening at the Simple Digital Arena.

"What a night to get the win so late on!" Millar tweeted. "So proud of the boys! On a personal note very happy to score my first professional goal!!"

Millar has won four caps for Canada.

The goal, Kilmarnock's first since Feb. 6, helped end the visitors' eight-game winless streak in league play.

Kilmarnock (14-8-7) stands fourth in the Scottish standings while St. Mirren (4-20-5) is 12th and last.
