An injured snowmobiler was saved by the Vernon Search and Rescue team this weekend.

The snowmobiler got hurt in the Hunters Range Snowmobile area, east of Enderby, according to a Facebook post shared by VSAR.

The call came in during the afternoon of Jan. 21. Changing weather required the team to respond with a helicopter and also deploy a sled team for backup.

“The Sled Team arrived just as the helicopter was preparing to land, and the rider was safely loaded into the helicopter and transferred to BCEHS at the Vernon Airport,” reads the post.

“The injured rider's group was well prepared and were able to keep the rider warm and safe.”

Assisting VSAR were members of the Enderby Fire Department and members of the Hunters Range Snowmobile Association.
