Get ready to be walloped by winter.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning Dec. 29 for the Central and North Okanagan, as well as the Shuswap.
"A long period of snowfall with total amounts of 20 to 30 centimetres is expected," the warning from the national weather agency read.
"A storm will track across British Columbia Monday night and Tuesday, bringing heavy snow to the southern interior."
Snowfall is expected to get underway Monday evening and intensify during the night. It will taper off and become mixed with rain Tuesday evening.
"Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve," reads the alert. "Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow."
