Heavy snowfall is expected to the East.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Highway 3 from Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass.
Approximately 15-20 cm of snow is expected to fall on the region.
A low forming over central Washington State will strengthen and move northeastward into the Kootenay regions.
As the low continues to move northeast, the heavy snow is expected to ease by late this afternoon.
Environment Canada warns to be prepared to adjust driving with changing road conditions.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
Check out the Environment Canada website for the latest on the snowfall warning.
The latest driving conditions can be found at the Drive B.C. website here.
