Plenty of snow is expected across the Okanagan before New Year's Eve.

OKANAGAN - Plan for lots of fresh snow in the Okanagan over the news few days before the sun comes out on New Year's Eve in the Okanagan.
Environment Canada is forecasting up to 10 centimetres of snow today, Dec. 28, with a high of -6 Celsius in Kelowna and Vernon. The snow will end and become flurries overnight but not before another five to 10 cm falls with the low down to -8.
In Penticton, five to 10 cm of snow are expected today with a high of -5 C. Overnight the temperature should remain steady around -5 C. Another 5 to 10 centimetres of snow is expected overnight, the wind south at 20 km/h becoming north at 20 km/h after midnight and the temperature steady at around -5 C.
The forecast calls for a cloudy day in Kelowna and Vernon tomorrow with flurries in the morning and snow beginning in the afternoon. About 5 cm worth of snow is expected with a high of -6 C. More snow overnight with the low down to -10 C.
In Penticton, flurries will also turn to heavier snow in the afternoon tomorrow with up to five cm expected. The temperature will be steady near -5 C throughout the day. The snow will continue overnight with a low of - 10 C.
Periods of snow and a high of -7 C are predicted for Saturday across the Okanagan.
Forecasters expect a mix of sun and cloud and a high of -9 C on New Year's Eve during the day. Overnight, you'll be ringing in the new year with cloudy periods and a low of -14 C.
The forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud on New Year's Day with a high of -8 C.
Normal temperatures for this time of year are highs of around -1 C and lows of near -8 C.
