ST. ALBERT, Alta. - Justice officials in Alberta have dropped a ticket issued to a Good Samaritan who used his ATV to plow snow off a city sidewalk.
Jon Cooper received the $250 fine in January 2011 while attempting to clear a path regularly used by seniors in St. Albert, north of Edmonton.
When the ATV and it's attached plow got stuck in the heavy snow, Cooper's son tried to tow it out with his truck.
Soon after, RCMP arrived and ticketed Cooper for using the ATV in the city.
There was a scuffle and officers charged the son with obstructing a peace officer.
Those criminal charges were also dropped, and the family says it plans to file a lawsuit.
