A weather system packing significant snow is moving through the southern Interior and has prompted a snowfall warning for the North Okanagan, including Vernon.

The heavy snowfall is expected to start late this afternoon, Feb. 2, and continue overnight, according to Environment Canada.

Enderby and Lumby are expected to receive the most snow with up to 10 centimetres, while five cm is forecast for Vernon.

“Periods of snow will begin late this afternoon before tapering off to flurries overnight tonight," the snowfall warning states. "Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.”
