Snow on the way for the Okanagan and Kamloops

It may be time to remember where you left your shovel as snow is coming to the B.C. Interior tonight and it is expected to continue off and on into the weekend.

While the Okanagan can look forward to anywhere from four to eight centimetres of snow tonight and tomorrow, it doesn't look like Kamloops will get any significant accumulations.

In Kelowna and Vernon, periods of snow are expected to begin overnight with a low of -2 Celsius expected. Two to four centimetres of snow is expected tomorrow with a high of 0 C.

Penticton should see flurries or rain showers tonight with periods of snow beginning before midnight. Up to two cm is expected before morning with an overnight low of 1 C. Another two to four cm is expected tomorrow with snow and rain mix in the afternoon. Tomorrow’s high in Penticton is expected to reach 2 C .

Snow flurries a possibility Friday night throughout the Okanagan, with a return to periods of snow Saturday and Sunday nights.

Kamloops can expect to see a 40 per cent chance of flurries late this evening and overnight with a 70 per cent chance of flurries tomorrow. The weather office is not forecasting any significant accumulations. Today’s high should reach 2 C, with an overnight low of 0 C and high tomorrow of 2 C.

Snow flurries are expected Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in Kamloops.
