Snow expected in Kamloops and the Okanagan this weekend

There may be a little bit of sunshine this week in Kamloops and the Okanagan but the forecast for Saturday is for snow.

The Environment Canada online forecast doesn’t say how much is expected to fall in the region.

Kamloops should be mainly cloudy today, Dec. 7 with some clearing tomorrow. Today’s high temperature is expected to be 3 Celsius, 1 C Friday then dropping to the freezing level on the weekend with overnight lows down to -6 C on Saturday morning.

The North and Central Okanagan are forecast to be mainly cloudy today with a 60% chance of flurries tonight followed by a mix of sun and cloud on Friday.

Today’s high is expected to be 2 C, dropping to 0 C Friday and -2 C on Saturday. Overnight lows will also get down to – 6 C on Saturday morning.

Penticton is expected to be warmer with a high of 4 C today and a 30% chance of showers, changing to a 60% chance of showers or flurries tonight as the temperature drops to -1 C.

Skies are forecast to clear in Penticton on Friday with a high of 3 dropping to -6 C overnight into Saturday.

Next week is expected to be cloudy with highs up to 3 C and lows in the -3 C range throughout the region.
