GRINDROD - A small community in the North Okanagan area is rallying together for victims of the Rock Creek wildfire.

The Riverfront Pub & Grill is organizing a Ride for Rock Creek to assist people affected by an aggressive wildfire east of Osoyoos in the Rock Creek area. The human-caused fire destroyed 30 homes and 15 structures, leaving many residents with little to come home to.

The Riverfront pub holds a poker run annually, and has decided to donate this year’s proceeds to the Rock Creek fire victims.

“This will be a simple and fun run and hopefully together we can all make things a bit better for the residents of Rock Creek,” the pub wrote on Facebook.

The ride is set for Sunday, Sept. 20.

Anyone interested in helping out can contact Julie at 250-803-8851 or Chance at riverfrontpub@hotmail.com.
