KELOWNA - A small fire has forced the early closing of the B.C. Tree Fruits cidery and packinghouse on Vaughn Avenue in downtown Kelowna.

Customer Jane Muskens said an employee told her the market, cidery and packinghouse had all been evacuated even though the fire was located in the cidery.

Kelowna Fire Departrment trucks sat outside facility late Thursday afternoon, Aug. 2, even as customers arrived to find it closed.

The reason for the callout could not immediately confirmed with Kelowna Fire Department although no injuries were reported and no ambulances were in attendence.
