PENTICTON - South Okanagan motorists using side roads need to use caution when driving this morning.

Okanagan Falls firefighters responded to two motor vehicle incidents this morning, both the result of slippery road conditions. Both incidents were minor in nature, with no injuries reported.

“There’s a lot of ice underneath water that’s melting. Argo trucks are out there now sanding and salting and things are improving,” Michael Casorso with the Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Department says.

Waterman’s Hill on Highway 97 was also reported to be a skating rink this morning, Jan. 19, as was a section of Green Lake Road.

Casorso says area side streets are still pretty icy as well.
