Super Bowl Sunday is this weekend, and as the San Francisco 49’s take on the Kansas City Chiefs, you’ll probably want to enjoy some saucy wings, chips and dips, and plenty of beers.

Although Super Bowl house parties are a fan favourite, you may not want to host a group of rowdy fans in your living room. If you and your pals would rather have someone else cater to you and clean up afterwards, watching the game at a bar is a wise choice.

Kick-off is at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb 2, and you might want to call ahead to reserve a table for you and your pals. Grab some like-minded fans — or foes — and settle in for the action at one of these Thompson-Okanagan sports bars.

KAMLOOPS

For football fans in Kamloops, you've got some good options.

Shark Club Sports Bar and Grill has 56 televisions and shows major sports games, fight nights and other events. With craft beer and more familiar favourites, it’s a great spot to get together with friends and immerse yourself in the game. You can check them out at 285 Lorne Street.

If you want to win more than just the game, check out is On The Rocks, located at 1265 Rogers Way. They’ll be offering $5,000 in prizes during the game as well as a Visa gift card for $2,500. You can catch the game on big-screen televisions while eating their unique take on classic pub fare or one of the menu items inspired by different cuisines around the world.

You can also catch the big game at Match Eatery in the Cascades Casino at 1555 Versatile Drive, where they’ll offer $4 beers and wine, NFL themed giveaways and tailgate games.

KELOWNA

You can catch the Super Bowl kick-off in Kelowna at a variety of places, here are a few of them.

Dakoda’s Sports Bar and Grill at 1574 Harvey Avenue will be playing the big game and offers a 144-square inch pizza you can share with your buds.

Craft Beer Market is an ideal spot to fill up on the game day goods, with a menu made for game day with $4 drinks and food specials, plus sip on one of the dozens of local and imported beers.

Check out Rusty’s Sports Lounge and catch the game on the 24 televisions in the restaurant that is located at 1525 Dilworth Drive. Rusty’s is offering free nachos with the purchase of a jug of beer, door prizes like official NFL gear, Seahawks tickets, and more. They also have 14 pool tables and some dartboards to carry on the party after the game is finished.

The Match Eatery will be offering tailgate games, prizes and $4 food and drink options. Check it out at 1254 Water Street.

The Canadian Brewhouse is known for having the perfect game watching environment, and the location in Kelowna is no different. Visit them at 3030 Pandosy Street for a chance to win a big-screen TV and fill up on some chef-designed food, including Canadian necessities like poutine done in unique styles. They'll be pouring $7.99 tankards of Bud and Bud Light to celebrate the game, as well as the usual Sunday special tankards of Stella and Hoegaarden for the same price.

PENTICTON

If you want to watch the game and maybe also some live music, check out Tug’s Tap House at 260 Martin Street. They’ll be in game day fashion with Super Bowl features, happy hour until 5 p.m. and dinner specials. They offer roast beef and turkey for a game day price of $14.95 and have caesars on special all day long.

Feel good while celebrating by paying $15 for a ticket to the Copper Mug Pub Super Bowl party, which benefits Penticton Hockey Alumni and could win you two tickets to a Maroon 5 show with flight and hotel paid for. The Copper Mug Pub claims to be the oldest in Penticton, and with two 80-inch televisions added to their screen collection, you’re sure to catch every move of the game. They offer classic pub grub and will have drink and food specials for the big day. They don’t do reservations on game day, so be sure to come early. Visit them at 409 -1301 Main Street.

VERNON

For those of you in Vernon looking to escape to a sports bar for the game, you've got a few spots to choose from.

Check out the Green Pub at 4801-27 Street for a family-friendly super bowl party. There, chow down on game day food specials. With a 10-foot screen, they claim to have the largest TV to watch the game on, and the loudest sound. There will be prizes for those who guess the correct final score, as well as other gifts to win.

Of course, you can't forget one of the classic Canadian restaurants to gather with friends for the game. Don Cherry’s at 3914 32 Street in Vernon serves up familiar beers, craft brews and all kinds of food, and you can score a free plate of nachos when you buy a jug of beers. You can even feel a little closer to the action while eating one of their specialty hotdogs, which might be even more satisfying than the ones sold at the stadium.

As with Kelowna and Kamloops, Vernon’s Match Eatery in Cascades Casino offers $4 beers and wine, NFL themed giveaways and tailgate games. Get your friends together and head to 4900 Anderson Way to get in on the action.
