Ski2Tree boat launch closure and restrictions

KELOWNA - The first annual Ski2Tree relay race will be happening on Saturday, March 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The six-stage event includes snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, road and mountain biking, running and paddling and will travel from the Nordic Centre on McCulloch Road to the finish line at the Water Street boat launch in City Park.

To accommodate a transition area, one of the parking lots along the Mission Creek greenway on the southeast side of the creek on Spiers Road and KLO Road will be closed to the public. Runners will also be running along the greenway to Lakeshore Road before making their way to City Park to travel along the promenade to the Water Street boat launch.

No major road closures are planned for the event, but motorists are advised to watch for athletes along the route. The Water Street boat launch will be closed to the public for the duration of the event, but the promenade and crosswalk will remain open. Stalls at the south end of the parking lot will remain open for Yacht Club use.
