PENTICTON - The Penticton Dragon Boat Festival is gearing up for the 2016 event, which is expected to attract more than 2,100 athletes.

During the second week of September, the 15 year old festival will play host to more than 2,100 athletes from Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest as they compete along the north shore of Skaha Lake.

Penticton Dragon Boat Festival President Launa Maundrell announced Tuesday, Jan. 5 Skaha Hills has now joined the festival’s sponsorship group.

Maundrell says she is thrilled to have Skaha Hills come on board as a supporting partner in the festival, noting the number of participants who come to Penticton to participate every year.

“It is very likely that some of them may be thinking about moving to Penticton or investing in a vacation home here. Skaha Hills is a great fit,” she says.

The Dragon Boat Festival also hosts the Okanagan Super Sprints on Skaha Lake during the Canada Day long weekend.
