Single vehicle rollover closes one lane of Trans-Canada Highway near Kamloops

KAMLOOPS -  Police are calling it a "serious single vehicle rollover" that occurred on the Trans-Canada west of Kamloops last night.

Sgt. Mathias Van Laer reported that the East Trans-Canada Highway was closed at about 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12. The incident happened west of Highway 5 towards Cherry Creek, closing the road down to single lane alternating traffic between Abbey Road and Highway 5 for 8.1 km.

Later reports revealed that the situation involved a single vehicle rollover, and that traffic was expected to be closed for hours.

According to Drive B.C. the road was cleared at about 11:50 p.m. last night.

Police have not yet released further information.
