UPDATE: Significant snowfall on Highway 5, warning lifted

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – The snowfall warning issued for Highway 5 Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt has been lifted. Environment Canada says significant snowfall is no longer expected.

THOMPSON-OKANAGAN – Travellers planning to take the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt today should plan for a snowy drive.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Highway 5 at approximately 7:45 a.m. today, Dec. 11.

The warning is calling for about 20 cm of snow. According to the warning, 15 to 20 cm of snow fell last night, and the additional snow today could produce hazardous driving conditions.
