SICAMOUS - It was probably the smell of freshly baked bread that enticed this furry-fellow to see what was on offer for an evening snack at the Subway in Sicamous' Subway earlier this week.

Debbie Foster spotted the bear while driving past Subway just after 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8.

Foster said she saw people walking by so she pulled in and warned a couple eating in the Shell parking lot next door to the bear.

Subway assistant manager Raman Thind said she wasn't aware there was bear outside the store until a customer told her. In her 18 months working at the restaurant she hadn't see a bear come by before.

The bear didn't hang around for very long and quickly disappeared, scurrying off into the night.
