Shuswap Search and Rescue volunteers rescue one of their own

FILE PHOTO

A Shuswap search and rescue group responded to a call to rescue a team member this week.

Shuswap Search and Rescue asked the community for its thoughts and prayers for one of its teammates in a social media post yesterday, Sept. 18.

An updated post this afternoon, Sept. 19, said the person was "seriously injured while out in our beautiful wilderness."

"We were able to stabilize them and get them out and into the hands of the amazing paramedics. It will be a long journey of healing, but we know they are up to the challenge," the post read.

Shuswap Search and Rescue did not immediately respond to a request for more information about the incident.
