Shuswap school locked down when intoxicated man runs inside

CHASE - An elementary school in Chase was locked down yesterday when an intoxicated man ran inside saying he was being chased.

RCMP say the man ran into Haldane Elementary School and told staff an assailant he was behing chased, but no one followed him in.

School administration locked down the school and called the police., according to a media release.

When RCMP arrived they found no alleged assailant.

"The intoxicated man was taken from the school," Staff Sgt. Scott West says in the release. "At no time were threats made towards the students."
