Shuswap crash claims life of Burnaby man

VERNON - Police are investigating a deadly car crash on a forest service road in the Shuswap.

On Sunday, July 2, Chase RCMP were called to single vehicle crash at the 38 kilometre marker of the Seymour Main Forest Service Road in Seymour Arm, according to a media release.

Four people were in a vehicle that left the forest service road and rolled several feet down an embankment before coming to rest against trees on the bank, police say.

RCMP say the crash claimed the life of a 31-year-old Burnaby man.

The other three people were transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries, police say.

Information from witnesses at the scene leads police to believe alcohol and speed may have been factors in the crash, according to the media release.

No names have been released.

The incident remains under investigation by the RCMP and the B.C. Coroner's Service.
