There’s a 40-60% chance of showers in Kamloops and the Okanagan today, Sept. 18.
If it happens, it will be the first official rainfall this month in Kelowna and Penticton. Kamloops got 0.5 mm of rain on Sept. 12 and Vernon had 2 mm of rain earlier this month.
Environment Canada has issued a smoky skies bulletin for Kelowna for the next 24-48 hours but also advises that localized smoke is possible throughout the Southern Interior due to wildfire smoke.
The Air Quality Health Index shows low health risk throughout the region this morning, rising to moderate this afternoon and tonight.
Kamloops has a 60% chance of showers today with a high of 22 Celsius. That drops to 30% for Tuesday and Wednesday with highs of 19 C.
There’s a 40% chance of rain in Kelowna today through Wednesday with highs from 19-17 C.
Vernon is likely to be a couple of degrees cooler with a higher percentage (60%) of rain on Tuesday while Penticton only has a 30% chance of showers today with a high of 21, rising o 40% on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday are forecast to be sunny with temperatures ranging from 20-23 C in Kamloops and the Okanagan before cooling on the weekend with an increased chance of clouds and showers.
