Shots fired, vehicle burned as Kelowna RCMP search for suspects

The Kelowna RCMP is searching for suspects after shots were fired in a neighbourhood last night.

Police officers responded Feb. 4, just after 8:05 p.m. to reports of gunshots in the 900 block of Fuller Avenue. Following the shooting, two small vehicles were seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed, according to the press release from the Kelowna RCMP.

"Investigators cordoned off the area briefly while they collected evidence and spoke to witnesses."

Shortly afterwards, the Kelowna Fire Department found a burning vehicle in the 2300 block of Belgo Road.

Investigators discovered the vehicle was involved in the shooting and had been reported stolen from Kelowna earlier that night, according to the RCMP.

“The persons involved have not been located and no injuries have been reported at this time,” says Cst. Solana Paré of the Kelowna RCMP, in the media release. “This appears to be a targeted incident and we are asking anyone with information to come forward to police.”

Anyone with information on the incident, or who may have video surveillance or dash cam footage of the incident, is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300 or remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or leaving a tip online.
