KAMLOOPS - Police have located two vehicles believed to be involved in a shots fired incident near a busy Sahali intersection this afternoon.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says officers received a report today, June 11, at 1:25 p.m. that a suspect in a vehicle had shot a firearm at someone in another vehicle near the intersection of McGill Road and Summit Drive, near Thompson Rivers University.

The suspect vehicle is described as a black pickup Escalade with an Alberta licence plate. Shelkie says there appeared to be two people in the vehicle, both wearing bandanas over their faces. The vehicle has since been located.

The victim's vehicle is described as a small silver car, and one or more of the windows was damaged by the gunfire. Both vehicle fled the scene immediately after the shots were fired, Shelkie says. That vehicle has also been located, but no one is in custody.

Officers attended the area immediately, Shelkie says, flooding egress routes trying to locate one or both of the vehicles involved, but so far neither have been located. There are no known injuries.

Police say no other details are being released at this time.

Police are asking anyone who saw the initial incident, the suspect vehicle, or the victim vehicle, or who has any information about this incident to call Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
