KAMLOOPS - The names of three electoral areas, each previously represented by their own simple single letter, will now have a fancy descriptive name associated with them.
The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has offically adopted the new names effective immediately. That means area "L" which includes Westwold, Monte Creek and Knutsford is now known as "Grasslands"; "M" which includes Douglas Lake, Quelchina and Stump Lake is now called "Beautiful Nicola Valley-North"; while "N" including Merritt, Kingsvale and Aspen Grove is now "Beautiful Nicola Valley-South", according to the district.
Letters patent containing the amendments can be viewed at the offices of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District located at 300-465 Victoria St. in Kamloops during regular office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., Monday to Friday except statutory holidays. For additional information call 250-377-8673.
