KAMLOOPS - Alan Shaver remains at the helm of Thompson Rivers University with his reappointment as President and Vice-Chancellor, the board of governors at the university announced Friday.
Students, faculty, staff and the community were surveyed in October and the board took the surveys, and the recommendation from the Presidential Review Committee, into consideration while making the unanimous decision.
“The recommendation from the committee for reappointment was unanimous. The board is confident in Alan’s leadership, and looks forward to the next three years,” said Brian Ross, chair of the review committee and the board.
Since his appointment in 2010, Alan Shaver has raised the university profile regionally, provincially and internationally by strengthening the student services department, led the development of strategic priorities, more than doubled private fundraising and saw the university accepted into the Research Universities Council of B.C.
The term begins Sept. 1 and will bring his complete term to eight years.
