Shane Koyczan 'Home for the Holiday' with Penticton performance

Canada's premier poet is coming home for a pre-Christmas performance.

Shane Koyczan Home for the Holiday will be at the Cleland Theatre in Penticton for a single show on Saturday, Dec.7, accompanied by special guests.

The Penticton-based writer, poet and spoken word artist has performed at venues around the globe, connecting with audiences through his powerful verse.

Koyczan is best known for his spoken word performances and has received five-star reviews internationally for his work, according to his Facebook page. He’s won the U.S. Slam Poetry Championship and the Canadian Spoken Word Olympics.

Koyczan reached an international audience during the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics, with his powerful poem We Are More and in 2013 saw his anti-bullying To This Day Project video go viral with more than 14 million views.

Tickets for Koyczan’s Cleland Theatre performance are available now at Penticton Community Centre or by phone at 250-490-2426, ext. 6.
